Heating a New Zealand Timber Framed Property Case Study
Mr & Mrs Vernon found out about the Ecco Stoves when visiting a forestry show where the Ecco Stove trailer was exhibiting. Mr Vernon said “we could feel the heat in the middle of the field” which had impressed them.
At that point they were in the very early stages of planning a open plan New Zealand Timber Framed property design and build through Timber Kit Solutions Ltd (TKS) in Telford. Heating was a factor that they were looking to find a solution for and had planned to have electric heaters in each room or ground source heat pumps. Upon learning that no radiators were required it sparked their interests and they got in contact with Ecco Stove Ltd. A site survey was arranged to determine the suitability of the property for an Ecco Stove and a heat plan was produced
.
Although they were both initially sceptical the 678 could achieve what was promised, Mrs Vernon said she has converted the electric heater points to plug sockets as they are not required. All the heating for their property is now carried out via the Ecco Stove 678 with their domestic hot water serviced via an immersion heater.
The Ecco Stove offers a great alternative heat source for off grid properties where heating can be expensive using electricity. With Eco Design 2022 ready models burning responsibly and cleanly becomes so much easier and our customer service team and instruction booklet provide advice on preparing your wood for burning (During the video you can see the terminal of the flue with no smoke visible due to the efficiency of the stove).
We hope you enjoy the video case study shot after their first winter and please call our customer service team if you have any questions.
